Caturday Acrobatics: Upside-Down Mousie Mania!
Anyone who follows the Cute knows there are a few things I think are extra super cute: extreme close-ups, upside-down kitties and Maru. If a video fits any of those three categories... automatic Cute post!
So you'll see why I was immediately smitten with Samson the Bengal cat. He has quite a way of playing with his mousie...

Operation Save the Baby Raccoon!
This is one of the best good deeds I've seen in a long time -- and it was caught on film! The fabulous folks at Big Cat Rescue in Tampa spotted a baby raccoon up in a tree above one of the snow leopard areas.
I'd send out the rescue team just for that, but to make it even worse for the little guy, his head was stuck in a plastic peanut butter jar. Poor baby!
Operation Baby Raccoon Rescue is officially under way...
P.S. You can follow Big Cat Rescue on Twitter -- @BigCatRescue. They have the best videos of some of the most amazing animals. Enjoy!

The Cutest Soggy Kitten You Ever Did See
When you're a floofy kitty, baths happen. There's no way to avoid them, so the easiest way to get it over with is just to give in, stay still and cooperate...
And this, my friends, is the look of defeat. (Fiiiine, take the video, too, while you're at it. Why not.)

Baby Lion's Fierce Roar...
Fierce? Maybe I should go look up the definition of fierce again in the dictionary...
Just like everyone else in this world, a baby lion has to learn to crawl before he can walk. Or, in this 3-month-old lion's case, he needs to learn to mew before he can roar. RAWWWWRRRR, little buddy! :)
And then, one day when he gets big and strong, he'll sound like this:
Now that's fierce!
Pimp update: He's definitely feeling a little better, but under the bed is home base right now. I want him to feel better so he'll come out and hang like he normally does!
He is not a good boy about taking his medicine, but so far I've managed to be able to get more of it in the cat than on the carpet or myself, so that's good. ;) And I think his tongue isn't hurting him as much because he is eating -- not a ton, but enough. Good boy, Pimp.

Two Cats Tuesday: We're Friends with OPRAH!
Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads! Today we have some excitement and some news.
Excitement first:
Oprah is our new best friend! We received a package from The Oprah Store -- they sent Pimp and Moo each a fabulous polo with a fancy "O" embroidered on the collar. We're pretty sure Oprah packed the package herself. (We can think that, right?)
OMC! Look! Oprah sent us a package!

OMC! Look! Oprah sent us a package!
We didn't even know The Oprah Store had pet stuff (but I guess that makes sense since she loves animals)! That's a travel bowl in there with the two shirts.
Moo, being the diva that he is, wanted to model one of their new polos for you, of course. He loves to wear clothes for some reason. He wore his for over two hours and didn't even care! Pimp was excused from this fashion show -- you'll read why in the News at the end.
It is very important to play with toys that match your outfit, like any cat with good fashion sense. We're sure Daisy matches her toys to her clothes.
There's more cute pet stuff at http://oprahstore.oprah.com and the nice people over there were kind enough to give us a coupon code that gives Cute readers FREE SHIPPING with no minimum purchase! Just use the code CutieFur365 when you check out.
Now, on to the news:
Pimp has been a little under the weather the past few days. I've been keeping an eye on him and he hasn't been eating as much or going to the potty as much as normal, so last night I took him to the vet. (Or, to be more clear, I was so worried that I sped the whole way there -- he's my baby!)
Turns out he has two ulcers on his tongue, probably from a mild upper respiratory infection and a little bladder infection, too. Poor baby! His tongue has been hurting him. :( I feel so bad.
A couple shots and bag of medicine to take home later, and I think he's feeling a little better already. He devoured a can of food when we got home, which was AWESOME. Yay, Pimp!
He just needs to rest up and take his medicine like a good boy, and he'll be all better soon. He had me scared for a minute there... it's never good when one of your babies is sick!

Smoke the hamster always gets some yummies for a late-night snack. He doesn't eat it all now though, he stores it in his cute chubby cheeks for later!
Oh, and his mommy knows just how much snack he can fit in his cheeks, and she said in the video description that he's perfectly fine nomming all this. (Make sure you watch to the end!)
How about a hamster vacuum next, please.

Snuggles, Cuddles and a Whole Lot of Cute Kitty Love
Happy Friday, everyone! Since we're coming to the end of the week, I thought it would be a good time to slow it down, relax and just ease our way into the weekend (especially after yesterday's kitten vs. rottweiler fight!).
And what better way to relax than with two of the sweetest kitty brothers you've ever seen! I love the neck snuggles!

Cute Kitten Fights Rottweiler!
This is proof positive, folks -- it's not the size of the kitten, but this size of the fight in the kitten. (Wait, the saying is about dogs? Nah... Not this time!)
If you ask me, it's the kitten who has the upper paw in this battle!
More kitten smackdowns, please.

Two Cats Tuesday: We're "The Beach Boys!"
Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads! Is it me or is there more than one Tuesday in a week? They keep sneaking up on me!
Today Pimp and Moo have a new nickname they want to tell you about... and new collars to match! I have always called them "The Boys," but the other morning I was talking to them and telling them about these fun new collars I had just ordered them, and a new nickname came around...
Since we live at the beach now, they are The Beach Boys! And who knew, but before I even came up with this name for them, these collars were already on the way... (You can click on the pictures to biggify if you want.)
How cool are The Beach Boys in their new collars?! Hope everyone has a great day!

Kitty Cat with a Flourish for Flushing
One of the most important parts of potty training is to make sure you remember to flush. It's just common courtesy. It's also what you do after you finish... but someone forgot to tell this kitty about step #1!

Get These Kittens Some Snow Shoes!
...or maybe a sled or something! With all the blizzardy weather around the U.S. right now, it seems like we might as well find some good in it -- like a cute video of fuzzy kitties frolicking in it, of course!
Watch for the little "cliff" part. I think the kittens are having a blast going up and down (or else why would they keep doing it, right?). Enjoy! And I hope it warms up for everyone soon.

Two Cats Tuesday: Hats on Cats
Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads! Doesn't it seem like it was just Two Cats Tuesday?! That's OK, though, it's our favorite day of the week on the Cute!
Today Pimp and Moo are celebrating Valentine's Day a little early. It's not like they're not full of love all the time, but today they're modeling their super cute red visor with hearts!
Oh, hello there! Pimp here keeping lookout for on top of the bed. I have to look down because "up" is blocked by my snazzy visor...
You see? I love my visor because it has hearts on it. Hearts are manly, right? A true PIMP can wear hearts. (See my claws? I dare you to say something about my pretty hat!)
Don't I look sweet in my heart hat? Don't I look sweet all the time? (Mom, don't answer that!)
I hope everyone has a good Valentine's Day this weekend! And don't forget your furry Valentines... make sure you show them a bunch of extra love, too!

It's a sleepy Sunday today at the Cute. We're all feeling kind of lazy after a long week of moving and unpacking, so I figured a sleepy kitten video would be a perfect fit!

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!
Can a lion, a tiger and a bear be friends? How about best friends? You wouldn't think so, but check out this cute, amazing story I got in an email yesterday...
They make an unlikely trio, but Baloo the bear, Leo the lion and Shere Khan the tiger have forged an unusually strong bond. Considering that they would be mortal enemies if they ever were to meet in the wild, it is stunning to see their unique and genuine friendship in these intimate pictures.
Rescued eight years ago during a police drug raid in Atlanta, Georgia, the three friends were only cubs at the time at barely two months old.

They had been kept as status symbol pets by the drug barons.
Delivered to the Noah's Ark Animal Rescue Center in Locust Grove, Georgia the decision was made to keep the youngsters together, because of their budding rapport. "We could have separated them, but since they came as a kind of family, the zoo decided to keep them together," said Diane Smith, assistant director, of Noah's Ark. "To our knowledge, this is the only place where you'll find this combination of animals together."
Living with the zoo's founders for the past eight years, Shere Khan, Baloo and Leo have now moved to a purpose-built habitat where the U.S. public can now witness first hand their touching relationships.

"We didn't have the money to move them at first," said Diane. "Now their habitat is sorted and they have been moved away from the children's zoo areas where the public couldn't really get a good look. It is possible to see Baloo, who is a 1,000-lb bear; Shere Khan, a 350-lb tiger; and Leo, who is also 350 lbs, messing around like brothers. They are totally oblivious to the fact that in any other circumstance they would not be friends."
Handled by Charles and Jama Hedgecoth, the zoo's owners and founders, the three friendly giants appear to have no comprehension of their animal differences.
"Baloo and Shere Khan are very close," says Diane. "That is because they rise early, and as Leo is a lion, he likes to spend most of the day sleeping. It is wonderful and magical to see a giant American Black Bear put his arm around a Bengal and then to see the tiger nuzzle up to the bear like a domestic cat. When Leo wakes up the three of them mess around for most of the day before they settle down to some food."

Surprisingly for three apex predators with the power to kill with a single bite or swipe of a paw, they are very relaxed around each other. "They eat, sleep and play together," said Jama. "As they treat each other as siblings they will lie on top of each other for heat and simply for affection."
"At the moment they are getting used to their new habitat. Shere Khan is being quite reticent about the move, but Baloo, the bear, is very good at leading him on and making him feel comfortable and safe."
Explaining that the three "brothers" have always seemed to share a unique bond, Charles said: "Noah's Ark is their home and they could not possibly be separated from each other. You just have to remember who you're dealing with when you are with them. It's when you forget that these fellows are wild animals that you get yourself in trouble."
The trio's new habitat had to be constructed carefully, in order to accommodate its occupants. Jama said: "The clubhouse had to be very sturdy for the guys, because they all sleep in it together. We had to include a creek, because the tiger and the bear both like to be in water."

Special thanks to Cute's friend, Cyndi, for sending this cute email!

Epic Battle of Cat vs. Fish
Once upon a time, there was a cat who's name we don't know (CWNWDK) because it's written in Japanese. CWNWDK had a huge vendetta against a stuffed fish. Again, we don't know why because it's written in Japanese...
But what we DO know is that he fights this fish, and he fights him good. CWNWDK gives that fishy all he's got -- wham! smack! toss! thwap! -- and it's really cute. And "cute" is a language we definitely know around here!

Cute Kitten Bunny-Hops Up the Stairs
Pingu is just learning how to navigate the stairs. You see, he's just a little guy and the stairs themselves are big guys, so hopping from one to the other is the only way right now until his little-guy legs grow some more -- but it's so darn cute!
He does have a little oopsie, but gets right back up and goes for it again! Go Pingu!

Two Cats Tuesday: We're in Our New House!
Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads! Man, has this week been crazy for me, Pimp and Moo -- we moved on Saturday, so we've been doing nothing but packing and unpacking for over a week! (Remember how Moo was such a big help last week?)
Pimp and Moo are doing pretty well adjusting. It took Moo at least a full day to feel comfortable enough to come out from under the bed, but now he seems back to his usual menace self. Pimp is a moving pro, so he was back in his routine by Sunday.
The boys wanted to show you around our new place...
This is the bed, a.k.a. "Home Base" -- it's the same bed from our other place, so we know it's ours and this is we spend most of our time. We were trying to nap when mom pulled out the flashy box!
This is our new couch! It's an aqua color and it's MICROFIBER, which is supposed to be some kind of super-fabric that me and Pimp won't or can't scratch... We'll see about that. MOL!
...and the treats! We just sit outside the pantry and stare at it, stare at mom, stare at it, stare at mom...
And this is the view from our balcony! But mom says we're not allowed out there. Something about being on the 5th floor and not wanting us to get on that rail and go crash boom to the ground below. But she LOVES it!
Hope you enjoyed the tour of our new place! We still have a bunch of boxes to unpack and a ton of stuff to organize, but we're getting there. Hopefully we'll be fully settled by next Two Cats Tuesday!
Have a great day, everyone!

But she LOVES it!Hope you enjoyed the tour of our new place! We still have a bunch of boxes to unpack and a ton of stuff to organize, but we're getting there. Hopefully we'll be fully settled by next Two Cats Tuesday!
Have a great day, everyone!

The Drama of the Nip Cigar
When I watch this video, I feel like I'm watching some kind of dramatic silent movie... The music is phenomenal (and perfectly timed!), and the mounting suspense, together with bittersweet ending, is just supurrb.
This is Cute's Twitter friend, @BrewskieButt, and his catnip cigar that he got from Cute's favorite online pet shop NipandBones.com (formerly suppliesjust4pets.com). Enjoy as the drama builds -- and don't worry, it has a happy ending! :)
