Fun Fact from the Cat Lady Survey!

Yesterday I asked you all to take my Cat Lady Survey, and some of the results that came back were really fun and interesting -- and even surprising!

First, I want to thank everyone for participating. I wanted some input on some things, and I knew the Cat Ladies (and the rest of you here!) were the perfect people to ask! Thank you!

(Psst... if you haven't taken the Cat Lady Survey yet, please do - click here! There's still time!)

Here's one fun fact that stood out.

How do you stack up? Is 4.48 cats a "crazy cat lady" or is it more than 4.48 cats that gets you there? Apparently I need 1.48 more cats to be catch up and be at least average!

I'll share more soon. This is fun!

  2. I've always said I'd be crazy even without my cats, maybe more so.

  4. I have a bunch of fosters but I count them because they take a piece of my heart when they go home. :).

  5. I think it doesn't make a person "crazy" unless they have too many cats and don't have the financial means to care for them. If someone can afford 50 and care for them in a responsible way, with a large house and lots of money, then I say go for it. Anything else is hoarding if they have tons of cats and can't afford to care for them responsibly.

  8. Hey Dorian! Curious: what was the top of the range? Wonder if, after a certain highly individual #, it's like your weight. Nobody quite tells the absolute truth about that! I have a friend who has the same - ah hem - issue when anyone asks her how many horses she has & how many Bullmastiffs. She's very evasive when answering. But she's a doctor wi a high-priced specialty. At least most of us Cat Ladies don't have to order food by the ton!

  9. I thought you missed an important question.....how much do you deny or can't afford for yourself because you have saved these lives......I have more cats than shoes.

  10. Somehow I need to find a cute little .48 of a cat! LOL Although, two of my cats are under 7 pounds. I'm saying I should count them as only 1.5 cats and then I can get a WHOLE other cat! On the other hand, one of my cats weighs 14 pounds . . . . oh the problems of the CCL!

  11. Your number slider only goes of to 15. I have 17, but then I do rescue so maybe that doesn't count?

  12. My survey gave me options that I simply couldn't possibly afford. I know it made me look stingy, but I just don't have money! Right now, I'm in the process of moving, & I haven't seen Minnie the Moocher for over a YEAR, because Leah's been taking care of her! while I was trapped in hospitals & rehab centers for about a year I miss her sorely, but until I get settled in my new place (pray I find one before my current lease runs out. The rent will rise overnight $150, & I can hardly scrape what I must pay NOW together! So I need to move ASAP!), I plan to move her back in when I've resettled, as I am stronger, now. I'll still have poverty-level income, but I'll make certain she gets what she needs ... just nothing fancy. Had I more money, she'd have fresh living catnip, her own cushy bed (though she slept on my bed), a decent playhouse/scratching post tower, & on & on! It's not as if I want to deprive her, but.... Maybe I should just give her to Leah, but I'm grieving for the lack of her shy, quiet company. It's just painful to even think of giving her away. :~(
