Talking Cat Noses...

So yesterday I dug up Pimp's baby pictures (Gawd he was cute!) and noticed something I never noticed before: His nose used to be black!

Now it's this bright orangish-reddish color -- and it's one of his cutest features. How did I never notice that it wasn't always like that?

It got me wondering... Is this normal? Do cats' noses commonly change color?


Hello, Google. But my dependable friend failed me here. After googling all kinds of combinations of terms, the closest I got to an answer was a discussion on Flickr where a few ladies (crazy cat, no doubt) came to the conclusion that yes, it happens sometimes but it's rare.

So now we more proof that my man Pimp is a rare gem. :)

Barking Cat

In my house, we don't call this barking. It doesn't have a name, actually, I just kind of look at the cats and mimic them... which I'm sure pretty comical from their point of view.

I have heard it called "chattering"... but I don't buy it. Barking I can almost buy into though -- if you're talking the sound that might come from little teenie weenie teacup extra-miniature midget poodles.

I Will Sit On You!

This Great Dane is downright determined to sit on his brother. Can't blame him really... his choice of seat is extremely plush and fluffy looking. I can't think of a happier place for a butt to be.

Unless, of course, you're the extremely plush, fluffy (and now baffled) thing that gets sat on. So you get up and move... and get sat on again. Poor guy can't catch a break!

Cute Baby Monkey

With all the media about Travis the Chimp out there (I'm on both sides, by the way... poor Chimp, poor lady), I figured we could put up some cute monkey business to make us go back to saying "awww..." about them.

Running of the Wieners

I love all animals, we know this. I especially love cats, and when it comes to dogs, it's no secret that I'm partial to dachshunds...

Which is probably why I find this Wiener Dog Race so darn funny. First of all, they're all appropriately dressed. Second of all, they're wieners -- and aside from being a funny word, they are some pretty funny dogs.

Who will be the wiener of the race?!

Cute Pet Spotlight: Romeo the Cat

Today's cute pet spotlight is Romeo the Cat... a beautiful, loving fluffy Persian boy who was adopted by his mommy and daddy from a Persian Rescue back in 2005.

When Romeo first came to the Rescue, he was deaf in both ears (poor little guy!), but the good vets donated tons of time and love and now he's all better! Yay!

Romeo looks fierce in his lion cut and likes to gallop around the house sounding like a herd of elephants, but his mom says he's not so tough... He loves his also rescued brother, Pugsley (he has a lion cut, too!) and is on a mission to raise money for the Humane Society and the Persian Rescue that saved him and his brother.

For every person who follows @Romeothecat on Twitter, 5 cents will be donated to the Humane Society.

UPDATE: @Romeothecat now has got a bunch of people matching his donations, so following him will send even more money to the Humane Society! Please tell your friends, too! :)

Fun fact about Romeo: He's practically famous already... he was the poster-cat of his dentist kitty oral rinse. Now that's a tough-guy picture...

Weasley's got some pretty good trick skills for a cat... but what makes him all the more cute is that his human mommy and daddy found him in a dumpster a couple years ago and decided to give him a home.

I love a good story and a happy ending!

Hedgehog vs. Toilet Paper Roll

It seemed like a good idea at first... Hey, there's a fun toilet paper roll! But the problem here is that this little hedgehog failed to do the math.

Diameter of one plush hedgehog > Diameter of the TP roll = STUCK.

That's cool, though, little guy. Math isn't my strong point either...

On a sidenote: Doesn't this hedgehog kind of remind you of the Kiwi animation?!
