Big bunny, little hamster. Guess who ends up with the carrot? (You cheated if you read the post's title!)
All you really have to know is that the hamster walking off with the carrot is one of the silliest things I've ever seen.
P.S. Only 8 days left to donate toys and treats to shelter animals for Christmas with Santa Paws Drive! Cash donations will stay open until December 20, but if you want to donate presents, you only have about a week left! DONATE HERE and help us make this the best Christmas for orphan kitties and doggies!
Sometimes food is just so delicious that you have to om nom nom talk your way through every bite. Mmmmmmmm!
I have my doubts about one of these, but otherwise I'm pretty sure the rest are real for sure! Can you spot the one I think is a fake? (And how cute are the two plates of kitties?!)
Synchronized Ear Wiggles is one sport this adorable bunch of tabbies would surely excel in!
When they belly up to the milk bar, they are so happy with their meal that their little ears just start dancing... all of them!
P.S. We have a transport this weekend and we just need TWO legs filled! Is anyone in or near these areas? Can you help? If so, please fill out our volunteer driver form! If not, please share with your friends in case they know someone!
There are 5 kittens heading home. Two carriers, so they fit in any car!
These are the legs we need:
SATURDAY, SEPT. 7 3:50pm - 5:30pm: Auburn, AL to Greenville, AL 5:45pm - 7:45pm: Greenville, AL to Mobile, AL
These four kittens (they are the Cheese Kittens, all named after cheeses!) need to get home. Mom is staying with the rescuer. Can you help drive them?
Can you help drive us for a couple hours Saturday, please?
When sharing a meal, it is very important not to scarf down your half too quickly or try to eat more than your half by eating quicker than your friend. These two kitties are the epitome of polite plate-sharers!
They eat just one bite at a time, just a single morsel. And neither one hogs the bowl... they make sure they each have plenty of space to pick out just the right next bite. Such manners!
Tap tap tap. Hey you! Other kitty over there. Yeah, you. What's the big idea? That's my food in that bowl and you better stop eating it. Don't make me use the paw.
Oh, now see what you did? I'm using the paw.
Obviously kitty hasn't learned how to share yet...
Henri the cat, as we all know, lives a sad, depressing life (according to him, anyway). Every day it's the same drudgery... and his cat food is no different.
Each day he hopes for something new, but no, it's not to be. Just the same kibble. Is there a way to change this for cats all over the world?
Want more miserable Henri? See more of his videos here.
If your kitty has a New Year's resolution to lose weight, then this is the video for you! You can sneak in a little exercise -- and kitty even gets to eat to do it!
Of course, he may not appreciate the work he has to do to get the food, but you have to admit... the treadmill idea is a pretty good one!
NOTE FROM CUTE: We have the biggest transport ever coming up! There will be 15 kitties total catching a ride on the Cute Express, and they'll be traveling nearly 1,700 miles with 5 stops along the way, and who knows how many Cutehead drivers helping them along the way! Yay! That's 15 cats that were at our local kill shelter that are now going to happy places!
I have been so happy about food before that I've jumped up and down, but I can't recall ever levitating and flipping right over into my plate like this cute little Boston!
His little legs get so happy and straight and he just dives in head first... and ends up practically doing a handstand in his bowl!
Raffle tickets can still be purchased (for $1,775 of awesome, amazing products) and cash donations can still be made! Every penny goes to our shelters. Let's make this holiday the happiest one ever for all the deserving doggies and kitties there! Please donate if you can!
Teddy the talking porcupine is very vocal about how much he loves his food. He talks and talks! And don't you dare try to take it away from him... He'll tell you about that, too!
Here he is trying pumpkin for the first time. Perfect for Halloween this week!
P.S. Thanks to everyone who followed along yesterday with Jamie the cat's transport! Such a wonderful group of people who came together to get him to his new home!
Here is a picture of Jamie and his new mom!
Magda and Jamie!
P.P.S. Tomorrow for Two Cats Tuesday, Pimp and Moo are going to show you their Halloween costumes! We're so excited!
Cabbage! There's a cabbage on the table and Maymo must have it! (A cabbage? Some cabbage? Either way.) There is cabbage on the table... and no one is looking. The perfect time to swipe it!
Maymo uses a variety of acrobatics, schnoz stretching and bite grabbing techniques to try and get his delicious cabbage. It's quite the effort! In the end though, all his hard work pays off -- and we're even treating to a really cute grand finale picture.
If you haven't heard of Lil Bub, you're missing out! She's a tiny kitty who is going to be permanently tiny. I forget the story of why, but it's impossible to forget how cute she is!
Here she is having a little bit of yogurt as a treat... and she really gets into it. Really. And she wears it, too. Very fashionable.
Oscar the Boston terrier probably thinks he's dreaming... but he's not. He is really laying in a pile of doggie treats!
His mom set this up for a photo shoot (cute idea!) and Oscar ended up being so comfortable that he nearly fell asleep in his treat-filled bed. Even when she told him "OK!" like it was OK for him to get up, he still didn't!
Who could blame him?
Chalse's tail is a mile long!
CHALSE AND WENDY UPDATE!Chalse is doing great. He's a bundle of energy and Marsha has started introducing him to his new furry siblings. He clearly wants to be in charge, so they're taking it slow. He is doing great, though!
Wendy is having some issues. Somewhere along the way, she developed some eye problems. Her pretty eyes were all gooky by the time she got to Marsha and the vet says it's not uncommon for cats to get this kind of thing and for it to come on so quickly. It could have been a number of things that caused it, from getting something in her eye to getting it scratched if she was rough-housing (which she wasn't since she was alone in her carrier for the trip). So they're just really not sure how it happened.
Poor Wendy's eyes.
However it did, though, one of her eyes is basically not getting any circulation to it and the vets (she has had two look at her and working with her on treatment) are thinking they might have to do surgery to remove it. If not, she runs the risk of infection and things getting much worse. Her other eye seems to be healing better. She is eating well, loves to be petted and is even gaining weight, so she is otherwise doing great!
Marsha is taking her for an appointment with the vets this morning to get a final call on what they'll do. I will keep everyone posted as I hear from her.
Also, I'm not going to open up a Chipin for Wendy's treatment because we already raised so much money for these two (and we still need to get Venus and Dahlia to Cleveland!), but if you would like to help out, please email me privately - dorian (at) yourdailycute (dot) com. If she does have the surgery, they're saying it will be about $780. Marsha loves both her new babies and told me she will find a way to pay for whatever they need (did we find these Chalse and Wendy the best mom or what?!).
Wendy and Chalse and their new parents, Marsha and Ron in St. Louis!
I love that picture. It just makes me so happy! Everyone think good thoughts for Wendy today. Like I told Marsha, once a Cute kitty, always a Cute kitty. She has a big extended family here all rooting for her.
Spike the baby porcupine loves a refreshing treat on a hot day just as much as the rest of us. The only difference is, Spike is way cuter than the rest of us.
I think if I had a porcupine, though, I'd name him something soft. Like Marshmallow or Cashmere or something.
P.S. Please don't forget to vote for your favorite blogs every day! I think the last day to vote is coming up. I'll check it out, but please vote every day! (Winners get $1,000 donation to a shelter of their choice!)
For those of you who don't know, ducks have guts. They are bold and brave and often really annoying. (I know this from experience when a gaggle of them once lived in my office parking lot and I spent my days chasing after them like an idiot in my work clothes outside my office building so the cats could have a few minutes of peace to eat. I hope to never do that again. But I would. Anyway...)
You'd think a dog would be a big enough opponent for a duck to not try and steal his food. You'd also be wrong.
But this pretty doggie is not about to give up his noms!
Everycat's favorite stinky goodness, Fancy Feast, is coming out with an extra fancy new flavor -- Yellowfin Tuna & Shrimp Recipe With Wild Rice in Gravy. It won't be in stores until June 30, but Cute readers have a chance to win a whole case right now!
Last August, Fancy Feast had a Tastemakers Contest where fans could submit their own recipes to be judged. Inspired by her two cats, Ginger and Wasabi, Joan Spector entered her recipe for "Purrrfect Sushi" (they go crazy for tuna and shrimp) and won!
They then took her recipe idea and created this brand new flavor (which you can win!). Her kitties must be so excited to have a Fancy Feast flavor inspired by their favorite foods!
Yesterday, Fancy Feast gave away a bunch of free samples in a one-day-only giveaway on their Facebook page. Needless to say, they ran out pretty fast! But the good news is... You have a second chance to win some today from the Cute!
HOW TO ENTER
To enter to win, please leave a comment below. You can say whatever you want in the comment, but I'll laugh if I get a bunch of comments that just say "Stinky Goodness." I'm just saying. :) Every comment counts, one comment per person (don't be greedy!).
All entries must be received by Saturday, March 17 at midnight EST. I'll pick a winner randomly using random.org and will let you know by email. One winner will receive 24 cans of this new Fancy Feast flavor!
P.S. We're getting six cans to try ourselves... and I'm going to let the six parking lot kitties each feast on one. I'll let you know what they think, but I'm sure they'll love them! :)
You have to watch this little movie! It's the story of Uli and her mission to get better food. During the mission, she's advised by her two stuffed toys -- the weasel and the fox (you'll see when you watch; it makes more sense).
The weasel is like the devil on one shoulder and the fox is like the good guy.
Will Uli succeed in her mission to get better food? Or will she stay with regular weiner dog food?
What a generous birdie to share his noodles with his doggie friend! One by one, he picks up a noodle with his beak, walks to the end of the counter and offers to his buddy.
Not only that, but is he dipping them in something first? It looks to me like he's even putting a little sauce on the noodles before serving them up!
P.S. Did you see my post yesterday? I'm asking for some help finding my dream job, and I figured the Cutehead family would be a great group of people to possibly help out!
