Crazy Cat Demolishes His Box!

Cats love boxes, but this cat loves them in a different way... He loves to absolutely destroy them!

Every time he sees a box, he jumps right in -- and starts ripping it apart with his teeth. I bet this was a huge box when he started, and now it's just basically the bottom of a box.

Do any of your cats do this? I've never seen anything like it before!

Mixy the Skateboarding Cat

Mixy is one cool kitty with some serious skateboarding cat skills. All she needs is a little push from her mom, and she's off on a serious ride across the room!

I have a feeling this video might be her first time on the board, but she seems to be a really quick learner! Check her out around the 45-second mark -- she really gets going!

A Day in the Life of the Baby Turtle My Mom Found

My mom found a baby turtle in the backyard a couple days ago. It was hiding under a garbage can, I think she said. So, like anyone in my animal-loving family would do, she set out to save her.

I was at work when I got a text that said "Look who I found" with this picture:

The tiny turtle minutes after being found. Just hanging out on a Tupperware lid.
Cute little thing, huh? They don't have a lake right behind their house, so however this brave turtle got there, it was quite a little trip!

A few minutes later, she texted me this picture...

Upgrade! Now the turtle has some mulch and some greens -- and the other side of the Tupperware!
At this point I asked if she was going to keep her or maybe take her to school with her as a class pet (my mom is a preschool teacher). She answered "Salmonella!" and I guess that meant she can't because the kids might get sick.

I have no idea why, but that inspired me to name the turtle E. coli, and that stuck. I was texting a friend at the time and he suggested that E. coli would probably like some more water. I relayed the message, and a few minutes later...

Even better! She upgraded from mulch to a rock and now has more water to play in.
E. coli, as you'll note, is also a gourmet turtle. She is not eating regular leaves... she is eating arugula!

E. coli decided to take a little dip in her new digs.
Silly turtle, we see you hiding under your arugula!
E. coli had a sleepover at their house, I guess, and the next morning she was in for a very exciting day. She was going to my mom's school after all -- but only for a day so the kids could see her. They were allowed to look, but not touch.

My mom said they just stared at E. coli for more than 15 minutes!
And after E. coli's big 24 hours, it was time to go to a place where she can grow up like she's supposed to and get big and strong -- the lake by my parent's house! This is a video of my mom letting her go. (Can you see where I get my squeaky talking-to-animals voice from?)

I hope E. coli had a good time with my mom. I know I had a good time getting all the updates, and it was all so cute that I just had to share with you all!

This Dog is the Best Exercise Partner Ever!

Hate to exercise alone? No worries, all you have to do is train your doggie to be your partner in fitness!

Splash does every single move his mom does with her, from squats and curls to downward dog and push-ups. Wouldn't you work out all the time if it was this fun... and if your workout buddy was this cute?

Thanks to fab friend of Cute, Melissa, for sending this video in!

Two Cats Tuesday: Moo's Temporary Favorite Spot

Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads! Remember how we had hurricane Isaac near here last week? Well, Moo found a new favorite spot to sit because of it.

Since it was going to be pretty windy up (we were north of the storm), I brought in my patio furniture from the balcony and had it in the dining room for a few days. I could have put it back out the next day, but laziness set in... and Moo had decided he loved to sit on it.

This is my hurricane spot!
Hope he doesn't get too comfortable. Mom says NO more hurricanes allowed.

P.S. I have some exciting stuff to show you guys hopefully next week! I'm waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I can't wait!

Yoga Kitty Does Inverted Cat Pose

Since it's Labor Day, we should all take the day and relax and unwind. Especially this kitty. He needs to unwind... or possibly unravel.

I have no idea how he got in that position, but he makes it look kind of comfortable, doesn't he? (And isn't that girl's voice soothing to go with it?)

Cat Loves Paper

Sassy is to paper like Maru is to boxes. You put a sheet down, and she immediately goes for it and makes herself right at home. And then if you put down another sheet, she has to go check that one out, too.

Do your kitties do this, too? Pimp once had an envelope on the floor that (I am not joking) we kept there for him for years because he loved to lie on it. Years!

Hope all of you are having a good Labor Day weekend! An extra day to hang out with our kitties and doggies!
