Every time he sees a box, he jumps right in -- and starts ripping it apart with his teeth. I bet this was a huge box when he started, and now it's just basically the bottom of a box.
Do any of your cats do this? I've never seen anything like it before!

ReplyDeleteMy Mum's Burmese used to do the same thing. worked methodically from one side to the next. It was hilarious to watch especially when he had finished as he jumped out, shook himself and sauntered off leaving a pile of debris behind him.
ReplyDeleteMy Thomas J does this too. I didn't know other kitties did this also. He's my lil tuxedo kitty oh and no his sister does it too.
ReplyDeleteyou sure this cat isn't part Sheltie? lol
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful kitty. None of the Farm cats do that but it looks like a tasty treat to me

ReplyDeleteof my Siamese cats has done this and heaven forbid you leave any interesting papers on the table they get the shred service too!
yes my kitty loves t chew on cardboard boxes, also on the heavy plastic that her dry food, and litter is bagged in. I have to keep that closed up so she cant get to it ;)
ReplyDeleteYep, my Simon loves cardboard boxes. He gets in them, and chews from the inside out, til it's only a flat piece of cardboard and a zillion little pieces everywhere. He is just a plain old mixed cat, and looks like the one in this pix.mostly white.
ReplyDeleteMy former foster cat Bob (yay Bob on finding his forever home!) could demolish a paper shopping bag in minutes and would spend hours chewing, shredding and ripping up cardboard boxes. I always had at least one on hand for him to chew on.
ReplyDeleteWow, this kitty *loves* fibre!!! :-D
ReplyDeleteThat kitty is a cardboard artist!! lol
ReplyDeleteThat little seal pt. Siamese is maybe just sharpening her teeth! LOL Making a big mess - what does she do with cat nip? My Siamese never did that but they played in them and paper bags.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have a 19-year old tabby who does that.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, she has very good teeth. Never had an extraction and has only needed one cleaning.
Of course, we have to leave an extra box out for her, so she doesn't chew the boxes we use for storage.
We had a cat that did that too!! She was "mouthy" anyway, and I think she liked chewing it up.
ReplyDeleteI see this a lot at the shelter, when a kitty is bored and really wants to play. This is a kitty with some pent-up energy!
