This Cat is Planning Something Evil
When a cat just stares at you, you have to wonder what's up. Something is going on in his head. Surely he's cooking some kind of evil plan...
Fair warning: This gets a little intense.

Cat Hat
Sophie makes a nice hat, doesn't she? She's perched herself in the perfect spot for supervising her person's computer activities. Plus, he gets a really cute cat hat out of the deal!
This has got to be one of the cutest computer helping positions I've ever seen!
P.S. If you're in for a good laugh (and like a good poop joke as much as the next person), check out what I posted on Facebook last night. I was laughing for at least 30 minutes straight!
UPDATE 11:30 a.m.: So... just logged in to find out Facebook had removed the picture I posted because it apparently violated their Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. Really?! With all the stuff I see and read on Facebook, they're telling me a picture of my cat's poop is a violation? Boooooo. I'm thinking about posting it here. Did anyone see it? Do you think I should?

Newborn Baby Deer Squeaks
Did you know that baby deer squeak? Neither did I!
Just a tiny, wobbly little thing, he's just learning his footing and trying his best to stay close to mama. I have no idea what sound grown deer make -- is it a deeper squeak? Will he grow out of this adorable noise? I hope not!
This sweet video was shot at Departure Bay Beach, Naimano, British Columbia. I'm pretty sure I could just sit and watch and enjoy the peace and serenity and beauty of these two all day long.

Pssst... We're Back! Wake Up Internet, the Cats are Ready to Play Again!
And we're back! Thanks for hanging in there and helping us support the protest against SOPA.
Time to wake up, Internet! The cats are back and ready to play!

Cute is Going Dark Today to Protest SOPA
I don't want to alarm anyone, but the government is trying to take away our cute cat videos.
OK, maybe they aren't aiming straight for Maru and Oskar, but if SOPA passes (Stop Online Piracy Act - it's a censorship bill that could really ruin the internet), it could change the way Youtube, Google, and yes, even the Cute are because of censorship.
An (over-simplified) example: If there is a song playing in the background of a cute cat video on Youtube or if someone is singing a song to their cat, and I embed it... and it turns out that song is copyrighted (they all are, OK?), then the person who posted the video, Youtube AND the Cute could all technically get sued and even shut down.
Preposterous!
So, to protest, the Cute is going dark today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., along with a bagillion other sites on the interwebs. Don't worry, we'll be back. Check out all the sites that are participating at this link. Big names... Reddit, Wikipedia, Google, Mozilla, ALL the Cheezburger sites... this is serious business.
Here's a video if you want to learn more about it:
So what can you do?
The main thing here is to raise awareness and let Congress know that censorship is not OK. If anything like this ever passes, it could just be a stepping stone for even more. I like the slogan on Google's page best: End Piracy, Not Liberty. SOPA is not the way.

So what can you do?
Here is Google's page with a petition you can sign to ask Congress not to censor the web and say NO to SOPA and PIPA.
You can write to Congress directly through this page (they even give you something you can just copy and paste right there): http://sopastrike.com/strike.
You can add a "STOP SOPA" black bar to your Twitter avatar or Facebook default picture here: http://www.blackoutsopa.org.

Two Cats Tuesday: Pimp in His Throne
Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads! Today Pimp wants to show you his chair. Make no mistake: This is HIS chair. It's been his chair for probably 10 years now. This chair has not seen a human butt (except by accident if someone tries to sit in it first before I warn them) in almost a decade.
Pimp's throne is a papasan chair I got from Pier 1 Imports a long, long time ago. I have thought about getting rid of it more times than I can count, but in the end, it always stays. As do the stuffed animals in it.
I like to think I could go on record saying this is the world's biggest cat bed. It's a monstrosity that hasn't really fit in my home for years. And yet, because Pimp likes it, it stays.
He'll go through phases where he "forgets" about it, but this is just some kind of crazy cat ploy to get my hopes up about getting rid of it. Because just like the sun rises in the east and a cat stinks up the litter box as soon as you walk in the front door, Pimp snuggles right back in the darn thing the night before I'm ready to take it to the dumpster. Every. Single. Time.
He has stuffed animals in there that he likes to cuddle with, which I also can't get rid of. There's a Taco Bell dog that says, "Yo quiero Taco Bell," when you squeeze it, a turkey from who knows what, and I'm pretty sure there's one other stuffed thing in there -- but it's such a mess of cat hair on all of them that I can't honestly recall without looking at it. (See above about why no human butt ever sits in this chair. I'm telling you; it's beyond repair.)
But that. That face! How could I get rid of his chair? Nope, no way. And so the darn thing stays, taking up way too much space. It's the oldest piece of furniture I own, and if Pimp has anything to say about it, it's not going anywhere soon.

How could you throw out something so comfy?!

Oskar the Blind Kitten Tries Out Catnip Spray
I can't help but smile when I watch Oskar. Here he is trying out a few squirts of catnip spray for the first time. The spray is great... but his tunnel is better!
I get the feeling his owners are just some of the best people. His daddy is so cute with him! "Very impressive, Oskar," he says when Oskar just wants to go through and back through... and back through the tunnel. "Wow!"
So cute. And at one point, do you get the feeling Oskar thinks he has to go back through the tunnel to get to the other side -- like that's just the way to go? Love love love.

Cat Hugging His Daddy
You know what kitty love looks like? It looks like this.
This cat loves to just flop across his daddy when they're lying on the couch watching TV and give him a big ole bear (badger?) hug. The way he just looks up at him with those kitty eyes would just melt me if that were me!
Plus, his daddy looks like he makes a pretty good pillow, too! ;)
