Animals are so much smarter and cuter than most people give them credit for. Here is a herd of cows having a blast chasing a remote control car!

They're not quite sure what to make of it, but they sure are having fun!

Armadillo Playing With Toys!

Who knew armadillos liked to play?! This is so adorable.

Rollie, a southern three-banded armadillo, just loves to play and roll around with his cute pink toy. He even backs off and then sneakily goes to attack it again, just a like a cat would!

Two Cats (and a Phantom) Tuesday: The Squeaky Mousie and Cat Trap Blankie

Happy Two Cats and a Phantom Tuesday, Cuteheads! Today Pimp and Moo are "trapped" on the couch... and Phantom is making it so no one is ever going to get any sleep around here.

Have you all ever tried to trap your kitties somewhere? I bet you have!

Pimp and Moo love to sleep on the couch (and of course they are totally allowed), but I am just not a big fan of having to vacuum it every day just so I can sit on it. And so I designed this handy, never-fail cat trap.

Snug as to cats on a trap.

It's called a blanket.

I'm sure you've used this tactic before. Boxes also work very well for the same purpose. You put a box or a blanket down, and the cat will appear on it within minutes. Tada! It's like it was a trap. :)

Zzzzzzz...

And now here's the silly boy... Phantom loves to play! He is a crazy nut! He just had endless energy, and so I try to get stuff to keep him busy.

When I saw this squeaky mouse at the story, I just knew he'd love it. And so I bought it for him -- and now all I hear is squeak squeak squeak all the time.

But how could I care about that? Just look how happy it makes him!

Two Cats Tuesday: Pimp and Moo Help with Santa Paws Drive Toys

Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads! Last night Pimp and Moo were "helping" me inventory all the Santa Paws Drive toys that got delivered. As you can imagine, I'm not sure exactly how much help they were...

There are 16 huge boxes of toys in my dining room right now, and out of all of them, I think Moo quickly found which one had the catnip in it...

This box is MINE.

Pimp waited until he saw what was in each box, and then decided to make his move for the stinkiest one...

If I stretch my neck far enough, I might just get to the catnip candy canes...

Aren't they great helpers? Just wait until I take all the stuff out of the boxes and pile it on my living room floor to divide it up for the six shelters. They're going to go crazy with the "Quality Control" job they do.

P.S. There is still time to donate to Santa Paws Drive! The raffle and cash donations are open till Friday. Let's finish with a bang! Thanks everyone!

P.P.S. Sweet Pea helped in spirit. When the catnip candy cane box came in a couple weeks ago, she was rubbing all over the outside of it. So it got her mark of approval too!

Kodi the cat loves to get all acrobatic when he plays with his toys. The simple swat and bat is just not enough fun for him... He likes to climb the walls and fly and flip!

Because everyone knows the toy has no idea the kitty's coming if he's upside down. Kind of a sneak attack.

Herbie the Cow Gets a Toy Ball!

Herbie the cow plays with his new toy ball just like any dog or cat would. He loves his new toy, and it's just the sweetest thing to watch.

I bet he'll get lots of other new toys after his mom sees how much he loves this one! Who knew cows played like this?!

Two Cats Tuesday: Pimp and Moo's New Cow Toy!

Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads! Today Pimp and Moo want to show you their new toy! I bought it for Moo, technically, because it is a catnip-and-valerian-stuffed cow and I thought it would be perfect... but as it turns out, Pimp is the one who likes the new toy more!

Go figure!

Ooh, this smells fresh and stinky!

But not stinky enough for me to care. Meh.

Moo doesn't like it? OK by me! More intoxicating cow for me!

P.S. We got this super-stinky stuffed cow toy from our fabulous friend's store, Nip and Bones! There are other farm animals, but of course the cow is our favorite!

Cat Hugs Stuffed Bunny

Clearly this cat loves her bunny, and probably hugs her all the time. She's hers and hers alone and she's going to love her and pet her and hug her, and maybe call her George.

It's My Birthday and Cute's 2,000th Post! Let's Celebrate Big Time!

Today is a big day all around, and we're celebrating the only way we know how... With lots of cute stuff and kitties and more cute stuff -- and some giveaways!

Not only is it my birthday, but can you believe this is our 2,000th post? That's a whole lot of cute! I am so happy to share all of this with you all and to have met so many wonderful people so we can do so many awesome things!

Cat Picks Out His Favorite Toy from His Toy Box

Flip flips out for his favorite toy, and will dig down to the bottom of his toy chest to get it!

It's a Valerian root pillow, which if you don't know, is extra stinky -- and even better that catnip to some kitties! We have plague rats that have it in them and Pimp and Moo go nuts!

Flip clearly loves his little pillow toy, and I love watching him dig it out!

Two Cats Tuesday: Pimp and Moo Are Donating Their Toys!

Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads! I am so proud of my boys this week. They are always good boys, of course, but this week they decided to do something super big-hearted and generous: They decided to donate most of their toys to our local animal shelter!

The truth is Pimp and Moo have way too many toys for two kitties. They have way too many toys for 22 kitties probably, honestly, and so we're going to make some less fortunate cats happy.

This is our pile BEFORE. It's a mountain!

What makes this even more special is that we are donating them to our local animal control in Pompano Beach, FL -- which is the place where we are always trying to rescue the kitties from and transport them all over! They are very sad there, and I know some toys in their cages is a luxury they are not used to having... so we are going to make that happen!

This is the mountain of toys we're DONATING! 

This will help make these kitties a little happier while they are waiting and hoping for their forever family to come along and adopt them. They deserve it!

Animal control is not a no-kill shelter, so it is always urgent that these kitties get adopted. We are hoping that happier kitties will get adopted more, and if every one doesn't make it out, then at least we can give them a little something to be happy about while they are there.

Pimp and Moo made sure to keep all their favorites!

Do you have a pile of toys at home like Pimp and Moo that your kitties don't play with? Don't throw them away or just keep them in a basket where they aren't getting used... Donate them to your local shelter! Trust me, they'll appreciate it!

And we even kept a little pile of toys for the most super special wonderful awesome amazing luckiest kitties from animal control -- the ones we find homes for and transport!

These toys are for all the kitties we save, so they can play with toys while they're waiting for their ride to get figured out and take them with them to their new homes!

Anakin the Two-Legged Kitten Playing with Da Bird!

Anakin the two-legged kitten was born without back legs, but that doesn't stop him for one second! He even plays with Da Bird (a feather on a string toy) just like any other cat!

He hops and swipes and grabs and jumps, and isn't missing out on a thing!

Anakin's mom adopted him after he started coming over to eat with a group of feral cats. His wonderful mom knew he wouldn't make it outside, so after a few days of trying to catch him, she brought him in, cleaned him up and gave him the most loving life ever. He is perfectly healthy and has no idea there's anything different about him!

Super Fast, Super Flat Cat

Oskar the Blind Cat Plays on the Bed

Oskar the blind cat has been blind since birth, but just because he can't see where a toy is doesn't mean he doesn't know where it is...

His sense of directional hearing is so amazing that if you didn't know he was blind, you wouldn't even know it watching this video! He knows exactly where the toy is when his daddy plays with him and pounces on it just as good as any cat!

Happy 13th Birthday, Pimp!

Today is a very special day... It's Pimp's 13th birthday! Can you believe my little man is so grown up?

It seems like just yesterday that I picked him out of a cardboard box on a street corner in Gainesville, Florida and took him home. Time flies when you have a cat!

Fittingly, the whole country celebrates his birthday. Everyone gets off work and gets together with friend and barbecues and all that good stuff. And rightly so! Pimp is a cat worth celebrating!

Meanwhile, back at home, Pimp had a fun present waiting for him! When I was at BlogPaws last weekend, I won a really pawsome Catpod in the Moderncat Catification Lounge. I couldn't fit it in my suitcase (obviously!) so I shipped it home. It just arrived a few days ago and I decided to wait to give it to Pimp for his birthday!

I'm posing nice, Mom. Now can I go check it out?

I don't know... Should I go in?

At this point, I put decided I had to put a little catnip in there to entice him. He wanted to go in, but he's just a big chicken when it comes to new stuff! I know he'll be in there in an hour when I'm not looking...

Later, though, as expected, he was right in there sniffing away at the nip! I'm sure he'll be scratching away at it in no time. Pimp is a sucker for cardboard scratchers!

In related news, I have informed Pimp that he's living forever, so we have many, many more of these great birthdays ahead. We hope you guys keep coming by to celebrate all of them!

Kitten Obstacle Course

I want to eat this kitten up. And not just because she seems to be a kitten after my own heart with her love of carbs (what is it with all the bread toys?!), but mostly because of her little rat tail.

And her mew. And her incredible obstacle course skills. I mean, look... she is not about to let that loaf get in the way of her and her milk!
