Happy 15th Birthday, Pimp!

Today is Pimp's 15th birthday! And just like they do every year, the whole nation is celebrating!

I can't believe Baby Pimp is 15 years old. He has been with me for just about half my life! I'm 34 and he's 15 -- he's definitely been part of my entire adult life, and I can't think of a better companion! Pimp is the best.

It's my birthday. Everyone get happy!

To celebrate today, Pimp is going to have a great day! He started out with a yummy breakfast (which Phantom and Moo let him eat in peace, good boys!) and then settled in for a little bit of a morning siesta. He'll play some with his favorite mice, have some lunch, another nap or three, dinner, and of course, TONS of cuddles and love from me!

This birthday is made even better because I just took him to the vet to get checked out last weekend. He is very thin (I lovingly call him my little bag of bones) and so I wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else going on. He has hyperthyroid, you know, so that contributes to his scrawniness, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't another underlying issue. He is all of 8 pounds!

We did a full workup -- bloodwork, urinalysis and tested for his T4 levels (that's they hyperthyroid count that would say if it's high and not under control).

And guess what? Pimp is just about as healthy as a kitty can be! He passed all his tests!

I'm a healthy old man!

His bloodwork came back perfect. No kidney issues or anything else. His urinalysis was fabulous. And his T4 levels are at 4.1. The line for being "high" is 4.0, so he's just a wee bit over that, but that is actually great! We were worried that would be a lot higher and the cause of his skinniness, but nope! He's all under control.

So I'm just going to keep an eye on him and weigh him all the time to make sure he doesn't lose more weight. Basically, this is just happy weight right now, the vet thinks, but we're going to make sure by weighing him often.

I get on my digital scale first, then grab him and weigh myself with him. The number we got was exactly what he weighed at the vet, so I know it's accurate. Hurray!

So good news all around on this great day!

Happy 14th Birthday to Pimp!

Today is Pimp's 14th birthday! Hurray! Of course we had to celebrate in the best way we know how... With a super silly photo session!

We practically had a party of here taking these pictures. There was candles and cupcakes and cat food "cake" and masks and all the fixin's for a festive cat pawty!

First, Pimp got in the party mood by putting on his festive glasses.

Then he got a cake with candles! (This is just his hyperthyroid y/d food, but don't tell him!)

Of course I had to take a birthday picture with my son!

Not to be outdone, Moo also put on some festive party glasses.

They boys even posed together with Pimp's cake! 

And then we all took a family shot! (That's my boyfriend.)

Overall it was a super fun party! After, Pimpy got to eat his cake, and Moo tried to sneak some of it too, even though he has his own food. We're going to keep celebrating all day today!

It's My Birthday and Cute's 2,000th Post! Let's Celebrate Big Time!

Today is a big day all around, and we're celebrating the only way we know how... With lots of cute stuff and kitties and more cute stuff -- and some giveaways!

Not only is it my birthday, but can you believe this is our 2,000th post? That's a whole lot of cute! I am so happy to share all of this with you all and to have met so many wonderful people so we can do so many awesome things!

Happy 13th Birthday, Pimp!

Today is a very special day... It's Pimp's 13th birthday! Can you believe my little man is so grown up?

It seems like just yesterday that I picked him out of a cardboard box on a street corner in Gainesville, Florida and took him home. Time flies when you have a cat!

Fittingly, the whole country celebrates his birthday. Everyone gets off work and gets together with friend and barbecues and all that good stuff. And rightly so! Pimp is a cat worth celebrating!

Meanwhile, back at home, Pimp had a fun present waiting for him! When I was at BlogPaws last weekend, I won a really pawsome Catpod in the Moderncat Catification Lounge. I couldn't fit it in my suitcase (obviously!) so I shipped it home. It just arrived a few days ago and I decided to wait to give it to Pimp for his birthday!

At this point, I put decided I had to put a little catnip in there to entice him. He wanted to go in, but he's just a big chicken when it comes to new stuff! I know he'll be in there in an hour when I'm not looking...

Later, though, as expected, he was right in there sniffing away at the nip! I'm sure he'll be scratching away at it in no time. Pimp is a sucker for cardboard scratchers!

In related news, I have informed Pimp that he's living forever, so we have many, many more of these great birthdays ahead. We hope you guys keep coming by to celebrate all of them!

We Have a Birthday in the House!

Today is my mom's birthday, so me and Pimp decided to sing to her!

She's out of town at a conference, so we can't sing in person. This will just have to do! Everyone wish my mom a happy birthday with us! :)

Today is a BIG day! Not only is it a national holiday, but it's also PIMP'S BIRTHDAY! Yay! My little man is 12 years old today.

To celebrate, we did we what always do on holidays around here... we got a little silly and had a party!

It's my birthday, you guys! You can't blow out these candles.

Pimp put on the special birthday cake hat and I even bought him some decorations. That's his table centerpiece he's modeling with up there. Festive!

Doesn't that look like a rockin' party? Pimp and Moo really know how to celebrate.

It's also the 4th of July! So, we had to celebrate that, too, of course. Lucky for Pimp and Moo, we have an Uncle Sam hat they can wear for occasions like this!

Today is April 30, which can only mean on thing: It's the Queen of Cute's birthday!

Yup, that's right. Today I'm one year older, but we're not counting anymore. The only thing that counts is that there will be CAKE... right?

Happy birthday to the best mom ever, Pimp says!

(I dressed him up like that one year for his birthday, and it's officially my favorite birthday picture ever. I use it for everything. One day, I'll sell it to Hallmark. Maybe.)

Today is a very special day... it's Pimp's birthday!

That's right, 11 years ago, the sweetest, most adorable cat was born -- PIMP! I feel like just yesterday he was this tiny little fuzzball with huge ears and lion paws.

Set off some fireworks, everyone! My birthday is the 4th of July!

I thought I'd embarrass him a little to celebrate: I'm going to share a bunch of his nicknames! (He wouldn't want you to know some of them, hehe.)

Pimp (He was named this because I got him in college and he lived in an apartment with 4 girls.)

Baby Pimp (I still call him this, even though he's no baby.)

Big Pimpin' (Cause he was fat. Was. Can you believe Jay-Z wrote a song for him? Haha.)

Pimpin' All Over the World (Ludacris has a song about Pimp, too!)

Poopie Pimp (You can imagine where this came from...)

Poopie (Shortened from the above, and extra ridiculous by itself.)

The Pimpster (I don't really call him this, but his grandpa does.)

You Little Stinker (Pimp used to fart and literally clear the room.)

I'm sure there are many more -- and I make up new ones all the time! -- but these are the ones I used the most. Don't tell him I told you about all that poopie and stinker stuff...

Update on the update below: Little Meow has a home!

LITTLE MEOW UPDATE:
Little Meow says hi, everyone! She's spending the weekend at my parents before going to her foster home tomorrow. I visited her last night and she was so happy to see me!

She is in their upstairs bathroom with a window for sunshine and all. She has her carrier in there and that's where she's spending most of her time (she's a little freaked out), but she has come out for food and the litter box. And she came out to rub and pet and purr with me when I went over! She's such a love.

She is still looking for her forever home. And I appreciate everyone's help and spreading to word. Keep it up!

Two Cats Tuesday: Moo Wears Short Shorts

Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads!

Today Moo would like to show you his silly side. Wait, check that... he's silly on all sides. But this week, he did something SUPER silly.

He wriggled his way into my shorts! On his own. With no help from me. See??? He really does like wearing clothes!

You see, I have this habit of trying on 100 things before I find something I like. What I decide against goes on the floor until I'm all satisfied, and then I put it all back in the closet (eventually, hehe). And this is what happened...

Moo loves to sit on my clothes. But this day, he was rolling around and playing on/in my shorts and shoved his head in the leg hole...

And got all the way in until my shorts were at his waist. That's where shorts go, right?

Then he started rolling around and getting all comfortable... and it was just too ridiculous not to share with you all!

And... we have some exciting news! Guess what's coming up in just a few days, on the 4th of July?!? Here's a hint:

It's His 93rd Birthday!

More Family Day...

Last night was my great uncle's 93rd birthday party. NINETY THREE YEARS OLD. Whoa.

So we celebrated, and as with every good celebration, you need cake (we heart cake). And with birthday cake comes Happy Birthday.

But, folks, this is not your average Happy Birthday. First of all, my great uncle is damn cute, and second of all, this is Happy Birthday, cuban style.
