There's a Surprise in the Couch...

There's something special in this couch... Can you guess what it is?

Every day, when the person of the house comes home, this sweet little thing emerges from its favorite spot deep, deep in the couch. Hello, cutie!

More couch kitties, please. (Oops! I hope I didn't ruin the surprise.)

Tiny Kitten in a Tiny Hat

Everything is cuter in miniature, isn't it? This tiny black cat in a tiny black hat makes my little heart go pitter-pat-pat. (I am the new Dr. Seuss, if you didn't know.)

Where does one find a jazzy little hat like that anyway? Pimp has hats, but I've never seen such a perfect, tiny one!

Cat vs. Rat

I'm honestly sure what's cuter about this video -- the way the cat just nonchalantly taps the rat... or that the rat has his own "gift box house" complete with cutout door. You decide.

(It's never to early for a holiday video, right? Hehe.)

More rats and cats, please!

Kitten Defends His Noms

This doggie should know better than to snick his nose where it doesn't belong -- in his kitty brother's food!

That said, while Cute does applause this kitty's defense tactics, can someone please teach him to share... a little at least?

How about a kitten defending his melon next?

Two Cats Tuesday: The State of Pimpin'

Happy Two Cats Tuesday, Cuteheads!

As many of you know, Pimp has been feeling a little under the weather lately. A couple weeks ago, I took him to the vet because there was a little blood in the litter box (and on his butt, so I knew it was him and not Moo) and they told us he had cystitis, which meant a swollen bladder and infection basically. Two weeks of liquid antibiotics and he should be good as new, the doc said.

The doc, as you can imagine, made this sound easy... Pimp, on the other hand, had other plans. He HATED his medicine. I had to mummify him in a giant beach towel and basically wrestle him into submission just to get the medicine down his stubborn throat.

But we did it! Yay. And two days before his follow-up visit to make sure he was all cleared up... the little stinker decided to get a small case of diarrhea. Ugh.

So back to the vet...

And back to medicine again...

This time... A PILL.

"Um, he doesn't do medicine well," I told the V-E-T. "I'm not sure I can give him a pill."

"Just try it," the doc said. "If not, come back and we'll mash it into a cherry syrup liquid."

Liquid is the better option?! Eek! Pimp already hates me for that!

So I posted my concerns (read: fear) on Facebook, and Dana of The Creek Cats came to my rescue like a beautiful, shining angel: Get Greenies Pill Pockets, she said... it's the only thing that saved her when her handsome Cal was sick.

And suddenly... there was a light shining on Pimp's pill prognosis! Pimp LOVES treats. Probably more than he loves me, but we won't go into that. I'll get these Greenies Pill Pockets, and with any luck, he won't realize there's a pill in them...

(Greenies Pill Pockets are super soft, hollow treats that you put the pill in and then close it up and give it to your cat like a normal, delicious treat.)

Cuteheads, I tell you this totally unpaid, unsolicitited and un-anything: I FREAKING LOVE THESE PILL POCKETS. Honestly, at this point, I feel like I owe Pimp's health to them. There is no way I could have given him these pills twice a day otherwise. It is truly incredible.

I put the pill in, say "Pimp! Treats!!!" and he comes running, devours the treat (and pill!) and even asks for another one! Which I happily give him, sans pill of course.

I just wanted to share with everyone in case you have to give your babies a pill ever. These Greenies Pill Pockets are a miracle!

Have a great day, everyone!

P.S. Guess what?! Pimp is on the Daily Dog Scoop today! He's helping lend a paw for Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. Go say hi!

Remember All Our Fallen Heroes... Human and Canine

This image has been going around Facebook this past week, and I can't think of a better way to recognize Memorial Day on the Cute.

Today, let's remember not just the people who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, but the canine service members as well. I'm sure there is a VERY special place at the Rainbow Bridge for them.

P.S. I don't know the origin of this image, so if anyone does, please let me know so I can give proper credit. Have a fun and safe holiday, everyone!

The Parsley Mustache

Plopp the bunny loves parsley... and Cute loves how he eats it!

Actually, I think I just love how all bunnies eat parsley -- like Black & White chomping from the same bowl and this disapproving bunny nomming in his box.
