I have no idea when I will get my next cat, but I already have him picked out. My next cat is going to be the plainest looking cat I can find. His kitten years will be long behind him. Plenty of people have seen him, but they probably haven't noticed him.
My next cat is going to be a black cat.
He's going to be an older cat, at least two or three years old. One who has been passed up over and over again at the shelter for a fluffier, younger kitty with pretty markings. Their loss, really.
My next cat is going to be perfect.
His name is going to be whatever his name is already at the shelter. He's been called that for years, and he knows it. I'm not here to change him; I'll just be there to make his dream of having a forever home come true.
Did you know today is
Black Cat Appreciation Day? This is my kind of day! Cuteheads who have been reading for a while, know how much
I love black cats. Love. I wish there was a stronger word.
Remember
Knight, who I wrote about last year for "Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week?" That's him in the picture with me on the left. I got the BEST news about him a couple weeks ago. He has a forever home. Finally! His new family is so lucky. (He probably would have been my next cat if he was at the shelter much longer. He was breaking my heart in there!)
And remember The Meows?
Daddy Meow was my first black cat true love. Man, that was the best cat. He's the one who made me realize how amazing black cats are. I think it was his eyes and his expressions when he looked at me. Love.
Black cats are the best!
