This is proof positive, folks -- it's not the size of the kitten, but this size of the fight in the kitten. (Wait, the saying is about dogs? Nah... Not this time!)
If you ask me, it's the kitten who has the upper paw in this battle!

Thanks for the lovely memories. My cat and my dog (who is no longer with us) used to do this all the time. She, the dog, who was part Shep and part something like a Rottie, found and adopted the kittens (3 of them) and was always firm but gentle with them; carrying them, washing them, keeping them in check, playing with them ... I just regret that I was always too busy with 2 hourly feeds and the such like to be able to get photos or videos of them with their "adopted mum" when they were young.
