Pimp absolutely loves those cheap little mice that come in all colors in the multi packs. You know, the ones with the fuzzy leather tails. Ever since he was a baby, he loves them more than any other toy in the world.
But... he doesn't really love to play with them so much as he loves to eat them. Yes! Whenever I give him a fresh new one, the first thing he does is devour the tail! Every. Single. Time. I have no idea why, but he's been doing it ever since he was a kitten!
Don't worry, it's just a tiny tail and he chews it pretty good, so no worries about it hurting him. He's a pro at this!
And then, when he's done with the tail (that was quick, wasn't it?!), then he just kind of likes to savor the flavor of his mousie...
For a while, I couldn't find these mice anywhere. I thought they stopped making them! Sure, they had the multi packs of mice, but the tails weren't the same. And, clearly, the tail is the best part.
But every time I was in a pet store or Target or anywhere really, I'd look to see if I saw them. It's literally been YEARS since I found any for poor Pimp -- until last week! You wouldn't believe how excited I was to find them at Pet Supermarket when I made an emergency nom run one night last week. I was so happy that I finally found them!
I brought them home right away and gave him one, and even though it had been years, he went right over to it and devoured the tail. Yay! I think it made my whole week. :)
P.S. Santa Paws Drive is kicking off really soon! Right now we're taking nominations for shelters to get the treats and money we'll collect. You have till Nov. 5th to nominate a non-profit shelter. This is our second year (Cute is a co-founder), so I'm excited to make it even better than last year! For more info click on the "Blog" link at the top of this page: http://www.SantaPawsDrive.com
P.P.S. I posted some new pictures of Little Meow in her album on the Cute's Facebook page.
he is just so handsome, a handsome mouser!
ReplyDeletePimp clearly has mouselectivity (selective taste in mousies) -
ReplyDeleteGosh Pimp, you don't need any treats, just eat your mice. After all, isn't that what you are supposed to do to mice after you take their tail off. Take care and have a great Tues.
ReplyDeleteOh! My Grace does that too! EVERY. Single. Time. And then she stands on the thing and plucks those red plastic eyeballs out and spits them on the ground. What is it with those mice?? The kitties LOVE them!
ReplyDeleteIt's early and I haven't had enough caffeine, but "Disapproving Moo disapproves" made me laugh so hard this morning! I can't wait to get home and watch the Pimp videos (can't see them at work). Thanks for the giggle, Cute!
ReplyDeletei hope he doesn't eat the entire mousie!

ReplyDeleteUmm.. He COULD choke on that mousie.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, anonymous... Pimp is a pro. He just chews on it and spits it out. He did seem to get into this mouse more than usual -- I think he knew he was supposed to put on a good show! ;)

I once bought a random package of fabric mice at a Pak-n-Save while on vacation in San Diego. One of them was a nubby mouse, like berber carpet, and it turned out to be the ALL TIME FAVORITE of my little Olive. She would growl with it in her mouth and run away and hide it. Sadly, we lost it a few years ago. I have looked over the years and never seen one quite like it again.
ReplyDeletePimp you are definitely a pro mouser!!! Erin used to bat them around but never ate the tail. He did have a white mouse for a while that he loved to throw in the air, run around w/ in his mouse but it got lost & I've never found it. I swear he must have eaten it. The one thing Erin loved to chew into little bits (but never ate) was the plastic ring off the milk. He could be somewhere else in the house but if I was opening a new milk he was right at my feet waiting for the ring. I don't know how he knew I was opening it because it's pretty quiet opening milk.
ReplyDeleteLove the pic of Moo!!! Cute, cute, cute!!!

ReplyDeleteMy cat also mangles those furry mice. Within a week, they were just pieces of plastic with holes. She still played with them. I think cats chew on the mice because they feel like mice bodies. Fur:bones::fur:plastic.
ReplyDeleteI bought a leather key chain from Canada that was shaped like a mouse, and it was more durable than the wimpy plastic mice. I'm not sure where it is now, though.
