Cat is the Best Knitting Helper!

Cats don't have thumbs to actually use knitting needles to make anything themselves, but it's still one of their favorite hobbies -- yarn, glorious yarn!

See here how Jackson is such a big helper whenever his mom knits something. He makes sure the yarn is in just the right place and of good quality by giving it repeated paw tests. I bet she's paying him in lots of treats and cuddles!

P.S. Jackson is a friend of Cute's kitty! She shared his knitting helper video on our Facebook wall and we loved him so much that we made him the Cute today! If you have cute videos, please share them with us, too!

  1. Kitties do love yarn, don't they? Any wool will do, I s'pose. This one is very pretty, and it hasn't pounced on the yarn at all!!! Extremely well-behaved...

  6. Thanks everyone!  Jackson is my boy and I'm a proud mom (of course!).  He's enjoying his 15 seconds of internet fame today :-)  What you didn't see on the video was that yesterday, when mom left her knitting for 2 minutes to get a cup of coffee, he bit the yarn right in two... BIG help... not always so well-behaved!  We've since found a lid for the knitting basket!

  7. What a handsome lad!  And such a good "Helper"!    I have finally resigned myself that ANYTHING I knit or crochet will always have a generous amount of cat hair worked into the final product no matter what I do.

  10. NOT a big help. Ugh. Been there--I started to sneak my knitting in so Hobbes didn't "help" me anymore. Nothing like closet-knitting!

  13. Thank you!  He's a rescue kitty, so I have no idea what he is exactly.. but he's a BIG boy.. definitely got some maine coon in him, or something similar.

It was shot with a Canon 1Dmiv DSLR camera and a 50 mm f1.8 lens.
