ReplyDeleteBeautiful kitties! We've nearly always had multiple kitties...the companionship seems to work well for them. We're about to take on our son's elderly cat...I hope it won't be too hard for her to adapt to life with our boys in her old age!!
ReplyDeleteI had three cats of the same vintage, rescues so the exact date wasn't known, and in their twenty-third year, two of them finished their life journey, leaving one cat, Lady, to learn, and rejoice in, how to be Top Cat. I faced the same dilemma; is she lonely and should I look for another cat? While I dithered, the problem solved itself. One day a kitten just appeared, and Lady became an instant mother, without the fuss and feathers of being pregnant and giving kittenbirth. She raised the kitten to be a responsible cat like herself, so that when her journey ended, in her twenty-sixth year, she left with me a firm belief in the benefit of multi-cat households. She was a remarkable cat in many ways, and I've written her life story. She will alwaysa be missed.
