Two Days of Cat Vs. Automatic Feeder

Milo has an automatic feeder that drops dry food three times a day, but that's not enough as far as he's concerned. He takes a running start and bashes into it 20 to 30 times a day to shake out extra snacks!

This is two days of non-stop feeder frenzy by Milo. You can see his brother, Max, looking on at him like he's nuts. His people ended up thinking he was nuts, too, and they switched to a regular bowl so he won't get too chunky from the constant snacking.

Thanks to Cute's fab friend, Keely, for sharing this cute cat vs. feeder video!

  1. I would think cat would burn off calories with all the extra lunges he was doing. Very cute, looked like his brother was trying to tell him he'd had enough. I liked the Nanny cam view.

  3. Smart cat... dumb people... Cats will eat what is necessary.  Give up the kibble people instead of laughing at watching your cat bash his head in.

  4. That's too funny!  At least he's getting his exercise when he takes a running start.  :)

  5. Better he bang into the feeder than the mommeh that buys the noms and loads the feeder.  Nom to live NOT live to nom.

  7. depending on how many pieces he got every time he hit it, his calorie expenditure may well have exceeded his calorie intake. besides - that is a pretty smart cat. :) too cute....

  8. Cats will eat what is necessary? Try telling that to my two very overweight cats. Cats aren't like dogs that will steal food from the bins, but they can and very frequently DO overeat, and end up fat.

  9. Cats should eat good quality canned food, not dry food.  Take a look at feeding cats at CatInfo.org to read about the problems with a dry food diet.

  10. I'm thinking he's actually getting a LOT of exercise doing that.  With all that running and jumping....

We have a feeder on a timer and it is nice just in case we are not home for dinner time, the kitties can still have something to eat.  They get canned food too.

We got the timed feeder for a kitty who was overweight. Poor Ruth, she'd sit and stare at the darn thing like it was a gumball machine. Then she'd look at us like "Hey, got a quarter?". It was pretty funny.  Boy, she sure would run when she'd hear that little motor running!
