The lucky kitties are Zoro, Midnight, Garfield and Count Blackula -- all less-adoptable cats that my friend Stephanie and I went to take professional pictures of during Petfinder's "Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week" last month. And can you believe it... one amazing woman has stepped up to adopt all four of them!
Zoro is a big, big boy who was adopted from Pompano Animal Control once... and then returned. He is super sweet and a gentle giant who's looking forward to his real forever home! |
Midnight is the only girl of the bunch and will no doubt make her Queen status known right away. She is a petite girl with the most amazing, striking green eyes. |
Garfield was an owner surrender at Pompano Animal Control and is bigger than his new brother, Zoro. But for such a big cat, he has the tiniest "meep" of a meow. It's ridiculously cute! |
All of them are older cats and half of them are black (you know how much I love black cats). And ALL of the are absolutely perfect.
I know I say it all the time, but I can't express how much I love this community we've built here and how many wonderful things we're able to do when we come together. None of this could have happened without the help of everyone sharing these kitties' pictures, stepping up to drive, supporting along the way... and adopting! Cuteheads are the BEST!
I'm driving the first leg of the journey out of Fort Lauderdale and they'll be travelling all day (six of us will take turns chaffeuring them!) until they finally get to their forever home near Pensacola, Florida -- 682 miles away!
I'll be posting pictures and updates on Your Daily Cute's Facebook page all day and tweeting the same from @YourDailyCute on Twitter. Follow along to see their progress and help welcome them home!
P.S. Huge thank you to Cuteheads Lisa B., Morgan P., Dulcia M. and especially Leigh G. for adopting these kitties!

Thank you again Dorian for all the wonderful work you and your friends do. So glad these beautiful/gorgeous babies are going to a new forever home in Pensacola. Kudos!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful story and they are all beauties, I am so glad you managed to save and get them adopted you do wonders Dorian
ReplyDeleteGorgeous kitties!!! So happy they will be travelling to their forever home. Bless you Leigh for giving these four cats their forever home and all the love they need so much!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear they are have a furever home. I don't know why all black cats should be less adoptable than other colors. Right now I have 2 tuxedo twins, I had a black and white cat who passed several years ago. I had always wanted a totally cat black and when I visited my Nature Center, they said someone had dumped off a cat. I was sitting on a bench outside when he came and jumped on my lap. And he was all black. And he came home with me on my birthday. So I think it was meant to be. Please say a prayer for him (Eclipse is his name) as he has been having trouble with kidney stones the past 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteAll four are gorgeous! Thanks for taking them to their furever home!
ReplyDeletePurrs
Dorian, once again a big thank you to you for all that you do for kitties and all animals. Thanks, too, to all the others that help along the way. These four kitties are beautiful and I am so glad they will have a home now. <3

ReplyDeleteWell that is just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYOU TOTALLY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!! YAY FOR THE KITTIES!
ReplyDeleteHope Eclipse is better soon, @525e0da04e73d2416f30fdc8635bb0f4:disqus. Sounds like he was definitely meant to be with you! I love, love, love black cats. I don't know why people don't think they are cute or pretty or are boring... I think they are the most gorgeous of all!
ReplyDeleteI think these kitties are going to have the BEST home! She has young son who is so excited about his new kitties, too!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't do it without everyone's help. This is the best community of people ever! :)
ReplyDeleteThere should be a way to do this full-time (and still afford cute shoes, hehe!). I'd be the happiest person in the world.
ReplyDeleteSmooches to Venus! And Dahlia!
ReplyDeleteYes, YAY KITTIES!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is my absolute pleasure. Anything I can ever do to help save kitties, and I'm up for it. I am so glad we could all come together to save these babies!
ReplyDeleteCount Blackula has an adorable face!! And Midnight is the spitting image of my Olive, a mezmerizing little face. But Olive is a bit over 10 lbs, not petite. Warms my cockles that these black beauties will be loved!
ReplyDeleteX's
Oh yes, this wonderful lady will be rewarded for her love.
ReplyDeleteSO very glad these beautiful kittys got a forever home;how very kind of the new Momma!
ReplyDeleteThat is your baby for sure; hope he is better soon!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are heros! I am humbled.
ReplyDeleteI've been a foster-mom for years, and am a friend of several shelters. There's a network of us here in South Central Michigan, and we help each other out. But that's easy! Fostering is not hard labor. On the other hand, committing to a kitty for the next 20 years of its life, taking the time to do a road trip to help that kitty get to his forever home - those are hard things to do. I admire you all very much. Thank you for your service to humanity!
Such happy news!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely the most cute kitties I've seen in a while. God bless the good soul who adopted them all. Being owned by an adorable black female kitty and a rusty boy kitty I can only say: Good choice and with you all: YAY KITTIES!!! Have a save trip to your forever home.
ReplyDeleteAnd not to forget: YAY Dorian - you are the best. Thanks so much for your idea of the "shuttle-transport". Wish I could help with it.
That is so great. Best news I have seen in awhile. If only we could get more people to take good pictures. That really works and Dorian, you are the best. Thanks so much for all that you do.
ReplyDeleteCuteheads are the best!!! Wishing them all good things!!
ReplyDeleteajjohnson, I live in farmington hills MI, if you need help with transport I am on Dorian's "driver" group for MI email is preston_margaret@ymail.com
ReplyDeleteI have had two black cats, they are gorgeous. My old cat who has since passed, (Hershey) was a gorgeous long haired black kitty and I fell for her at furst sight!!
ReplyDeleteHooray!! I like Garfield--he reminds me of Hobbes. Hobbes has a puny meow too. I'm sure glad they all found such a nice home. :)
ReplyDeleteYes! Me too, @ajjohnson31:disqus! I'm always up for helping if it comes up. :)
