He does not eat like a normal cat. He eats like a goofball, because that's what he is. A goofball.
He likes to dig the food out of his bowl and scoop it out onto the floor, and then eat the pieces one by one like that. Then when that pile is done, he reaches in for some more.(Check out how funny he is looking around to see if anyone is looking. He knows he's crazy!)
You see what I mean? Goof. Ball. And just so you know this wasn't a one-time thing, here he is doing the same exact craziness almost exactly two years ago!
Pimp would never make this kind of a mess. He's a much more dignified eater. And by "dignified," I mean he's a vacuum. Don't blink or the whole bowl will be gone!
Does this paw look like it was made for scooping?! The only scooping going around here is in my litter box... Now get to it!

It makes sense to me, the carpet has better friction so he can get a grip on the food, it does not slide around. My cat takes her wet food out of the bowl and plops it on the floor and then eats it!!

He is so cute! I wonder if it's because cats don't like their whiskers touching against the side of the bowls...i recently learned that it's better for them to eat out of flatter, open bowls..i'm gonna give it a try with my guys!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that, too. I know that smaller bowls aren't so great for cats for that reason. The thing is, he doesn't always eat like this... but he doesn't it often enough that it's regular. Goofball!

ReplyDeleteThat is pretty interesting how he does that . I have never seen a cat eat like that. Wonder if it is because of the whisker thing. I do feed all these guys mostly on flat plates.

ReplyDeleteI have a cat who eats dry food with his paw. Naturally most winds up on the floor but he gets to eat one or two pieces at a time.
That is so funny about Moo - I have heard of other cats doing that. Some of our cats like to pick food out and put it on the floor to eat, but not all the time. But most are more like Pimp - elegant and Hooverlike!

ReplyDeleteAbout a year ago Amy started scooping her crunchies from her bowl a piece at a time. And then she moves the bowl around the floor. Alexander is more deliberate and eats his wet and dry food straight from the bowl.
