Cute Pet Spotlight: Mooshu the Floofy Puppy!

Awww... today's Cute Pet Spotlight is Mooshu, a yorkie/maltese mix puppy that I met over at Contrariwise Ramblings. He's about the cutest, floofiest (is that a word?) little thing I've ever seen!

Mooshu is just a tiny little thing (look at him next to the soup can!) and needs tiny little toys. His mommy tried to give him a tennis ball to play with, but it was too big. So she set out to find a smaller version -- and found a tiny tennis ball just his size... and he loves it!

And if that wasn't cute enough... Mooshu got his first bath last week, and his mommy took some soggy puppy pictures for us all to awww at!

If you want more Mooshu (and who doesn't?!), his mom does "Mooshu Monday" over at her blog... and it's one of the cutest ways to start your week!

Man Rescues Daring Baby Duckies (a must see!)

All news should be like this! No more bad news -- just all brave baby ducky rescues all day.

This is officially one of my favorite news stories ever: A man noticed a mommy duck making her nest in his 2nd-story office ledge. She was cute to watch... and then the duckies hatched and couldn't hop down to try and get to the water.

He watched from his office as one of the babies leapt to the ground below (and made it, but only have scaring him by laying motionless for a few seconds). And then he knew what he had to do. He rushed downstairs and caught every single one of those baby ducks as they jumped down to their mommy duck below... All nine of them!

And then he and his coworkers ushered the mommy ducky and her babies safely down the street to the water -- blocks away!

You MUST watch the video of it happening! This is my "I love people" moment of the week. I love this man for helping these duckies!

Unfortunately, I couldn't embed the video, so you'll have to go to where I first saw it. Watch the entire baby ducky rescue here: http://youtu.be/VAqWC3Cpny8

Extreme Close-Up Kitty (Yes!!)

Here we go again with the extreme close-ups that I love so, so, so very much. You show me an extreme close-up animal video, and 99.9% of the time it lands on Your Daily Cute.

This particular calico kitty makes for a fabulous close-up because of his precious nose spot (and his pink nose)! His name is Yukke, but he's anything but yucky!

Pimp Picks the Winner of the Cute Cat Collar Contest!

Well Cuteheads, it's the moment we've all been waiting for... time to finally choose the winner of Your Daily Cute's cute cat collar contest!

Before we reveal the winner, I'd like to give a special thanks to The Modern Pet for sponsoring this fabulous contest and providing the super-cute Disco Dot cat collar for us to give away! (Even if you didn't win, check out the store whenever you're in the market for something stylish and earth-friendly!)

Now, let's get to the good stuff. Like I said I would do, my cat Pimp chose the winner of the contest. It was the only really fair way I could think to do it (plus, I got a cute video out of him for it!). This is how I did it: I put him in the kitchen and "walled" him in with the printed out comments. He had to step on one if he wanted to get out of there. And so the winner was picked!

And the winner of Your Daily Cute's cute cat collar contest is... Drumroll, please...

Congratulations to @oregonclaire who won the Disco Dot collar for her cat, Theo! Yay, Theo! (@theotigsy)

Thanks to everyone who entered the contest! Be sure to check back often so you don't miss out on future Your Daily Cute giveaways. We've got another one coming up real soon!

Having a Bad Fur Day?

It happens to even the best kitties. Sometimes the furs don't fall right, or the tail is too puffy or maybe the hair on a cat's back is standing up on end all frizzy.

If this happens, kitties, please don't take it out on the blow dryer like this cat. Just try a different gel or mousse next time...
